McCann Fitzgerald has made three new partner promotions today (1 May).
These appointments bring the total number of partners to 101.
Ruth Hughes and Donncha Sexton have been made partners in the corporate group, and David McCauley in the litigation group.

Ruth Hughes works with public and private-sector clients on a wide range of technology and innovation matters. She advises on complex commercial and IT outsourcing arrangements, intellectual property, data protection, and freedom of information. Hughes also provides specialist guidance in advertising and food law, supporting clients in navigating regulatory and compliance‑focused challenges in these sectors.
Donncha Sexton advises Irish and international clients on corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and venture capital.
High‑growth companies
His practice focuses on complex M&A transactions, particularly in the energy and digital infrastructure sectors, and on advising investors and high‑growth companies on funding rounds and strategic investments.
David McCauley advises domestic and international clients in all sectors on contentious and non‑contentious employment-law matters. He has extensive experience representing employers before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the civil courts, as well as through mediation.
His work includes advice concerning protected disclosures and employment discrimination, alongside strategic advice on workplace investigations, workplace processes, transfers of undertakings, and termination of employment.
