Three judges named for Court of Appeal

At its meeting today, the Government nominated Mr Justice Paul Burns, Ms Justice Emily Egan, and Mr Justice Mark Sanfey for appointment by the President as ordinary judges of the Court of Appeal.

Vacancies

They fill vacancies created by the recent elevation of Ms Justice Hyland and Mr Justice O’Moore to the Supreme Court.

The third post is a statutory vacancy created to compensate the Court of Appeal for the appointment of Mr Justice Michael MacGrath to chair the commission of investigation into the handling of historical child sexual abuse in schools.
