Minister for Justice competes in Calcutta Run

Over 1,200 people participated in the 2026 Calcutta Run, including Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan and legendary Irish Olympian Sonia O’Sullivan (small picture).

Since its inception in 1999, the legal profession has collectively raised €5.9 million through the Calcutta Run in support of homelessness services both in Ireland and Kolkata.

Events took place in Blackhall Place in Dublin, Cork and Galway, as well as at the 21 May Golf Classic at the Carton House O’Meara course.

Two are still to come: the final of the Calcutta Tennis Tournament in Lansdowne Tennis Club on 28 May and the Rogers Recruitment Tag Rugby Tournament on 6 June, in Blackhall Place and TUD Grangegorman.

Generosity

The dedication and generosity of the legal community are making a lasting impact on the lives of those supported by beneficiaries Dublin Simon Community and The Hope Foundation.

The Law Society extends its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed, especially official event partner Arachas Corporate Brokers Ltd and sponsors Behan & Associates, Independent College, Kefron, Antaris Consulting, NoFrixion, Stryve, The Panel, Truehawk Media, and Marketing Clever Ltd.

The Law Society looks forward to building on this momentum with an even more ambitious fundraising target in 2027.
