Stephen D’Ardis joins ALG’s insurance team

A&L Goodbody LLP (ALG) has appointed Stephen D’Ardis as a new partner in its insurance and reinsurance practice.

With nearly 20 years’ experience, D’Ardis has practised in international and Irish law firms, as well as practising as a senior in-house counsel in a multinational insurance company.

ALG says that he brings extensive expertise in insurance, reinsurance, and financial regulation, with a strong track record advising on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for insurance firms.

‘Welcome addition’

D’Ardis joins a practice that includes partners James Grennan and Laura Mulleady and ‘of counsel’ Emma Martin, who work closely with insurance M&A partner Stephen Quinlivan in the corporate-transactions team.

David Widger (managing partner) described the new partner as a “welcome addition” to ALGs dedicated corporate-insurance practice.

Partner James Grennan said that the firm was seeing increased activity from clients in the insurance sector and expected that to continue.

“This activity includes consolidation in the market, new entrants investing in Ireland, and the need for clients to understand and adapt to the evolving regulatory environment,” he said.
