The Courts Service has told practitioners that it will make an important upgrade to its remote-court platform later this month.
On 30 March, it will move from the current Pexip Classic system to Pexip Infinity, which it describes as a “modern, secure and more reliable platform” for managing remote hearings across all virtual meeting rooms (VMRs).
The courts body says that the upgrade is essential, as Pexip Classic is no longer supported.
It adds that Pexip Infinity will allow it to continue delivering secure, stable, and high-quality remote hearings nationwide.
The Courts Service says that the change will be straightforward, and the roll-out will be carefully managed to ensure minimal disruption to court operations.
The most visible differences will be new Infinity VMR links for each judge, and conference IDs for remote hearings.
