Limerick firm ‘thrilled’ at legal accolade

The joint managing partner at Sweeney McGann LLP Solicitors, which has been named Overall Winner – Law Firm of the Year at the 2026 LEAP Irish Law Awards, has said she is absolutely thrilled with the honour.

Aoife Hennessy said: "This is a tremendous honour for our firm and recognition of the dedication, professionalism and expertise of every member of our team.

“As a Limerick-based firm, we are particularly proud to have built such a successful practice from our home city, serving the people and businesses of Limerick, Munster and across Ireland.”

Hennessy added that the award is especially meaningful as the firm recently celebrated 30 years in business.

“It reflects the strength of the foundations established by Gearóid McGann and David Sweeney and the continued commitment of our partners and staff to delivering the highest quality legal representation and services,” Hennessy added.

Tiered

“Our tiered organisational structure and strong succession planning ensure that the next generation of legal professionals has every opportunity to thrive and build successful careers here in Limerick.

"We place great value on our strong relationships with University of Limerick and Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).

“The talent emerging from both institutions is exceptional and we have made a significant investment in developing young solicitors and trainees," she said.
