Law Society expands Practice Essentials toolkit

The Law Society has expanded its Practice Essentials suite of resources, which is designed to help solicitors manage the business of practice in a time of rapid transition.

Practice Essentials, launched in April, is described as a “practical, ready-to-use” collection of templates, guides, and resources.

The Law Society says that the initiative will continue to evolve in response to issues identified by solicitors.

Adopting new technologies

The latest release of 14 resources includes templates and guidance covering AI, cybersecurity, risk management, recruitment, performance management, and business planning.

Solicitors can use these resources, which are now available to download, to:

  • Plan their practice (business plan, cash flow forecast, growth in practice),
  • Manage risk and compliance (privacy notice, internal data-protection policy),
  • Strengthen their team (performance-management templates, job-description templates), and
  • Adopt new technologies with confidence (AI by practice area, workflow-readiness diagnostic, cybersecurity essentials, IT provider essentials, remote-working essentials).
