ICEL to run three-part EU presidency webinars

The Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) will this week launch a three-part EU presidency webinar series called ‘Ireland at the Heart of Europe’.

The events are designed to examine the legal and policy architecture underpinning European trade and security, as Ireland begins its eighth presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The first webinar on the topic ‘Ireland and One Europe, One Market’, will discuss presidency priorities within the broader push for further European single market integration.

This ICEL event will take place online on 5 June at 12pm for one hour. Tickets can be purchased here.

Keynote

This webinar will feature a keynote address on Ireland’s Presidency commitments from Minister Thomas Byrne (Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence).

The webinar will then proceed to a panel discussion, chaired by former Minister of State for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton, between leading academic Professor Jessica Schmidt and Kevin Barrett, advisor to EU Commissioner Michael McGrath.

This discussion will give audiences invaluable insights into the future of the European single market as well as the opportunity for questions.
