GEMME event on voice of child in mediation

GEMME Ireland will hold an event on mediation in education later this month.

Professor Shivaun Quinlivan and Dr Aisling Parkes are the speakers on the topic of the reflection of the voice of the child and young person in mediation, in the global and national legal context.

The discussion will be chaired by Judge Geoffrey Shannon SC (pictured).

GEMME Ireland is the national, non-profit branch of the European Association of Judges for Mediation.

The event takes place on 25 June in the Gaffrey Room, Distillery Building, Dublin 7, from 4.30 to 6pm, as well as on Zoom.

Awareness

The specific focus  is on:

  • Raising awareness of mediation in education, citing the international and national legal context for mediation with some examples,
  • Voice of the child/young person in mediation in education and some examples where mediation has been successfully or less successfully used.
