2026 Hardiman lecture series in Supreme Court

The 2026 Hardiman lecture series will be hosted again this year by Chief Justice Donal O’Donnell.

The late Adrian Hardiman (21 May 1951 – 7 March 2016) served as a judge of the Supreme Court from 2000 to 2016.

The lecture series will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays in the Supreme Court, each beginning at 4:15pm.

Myths

The first lecture, by Dr Patrick Geoghegan, titled ‘Myths and Misunderstandings in Modern Irish History’, will be held on Wednesday 17 June.

It will be followed on Wednesday, 24 June, by Mr Justice Brian O’Moore on ‘Cross-examination’.

On Wednesday, 1 July, Ruth Cannon BL will speak on ‘Where Old Ghosts Meet: What we can learn from the History of the Four Courts’

The lectures are open to all members of the legal community with no need for registration.
