The Association of Pension Lawyers in Ireland (APLI) is inviting entries from law students, as well as trainee and newly qualified solicitors and barristers, for its annual essay competition.
This year’s essay title is: ‘AI and the future of pensions law: risks, governance and trustee decision-making’.
The association says that pension lawyers need to understand how AI is being deployed in practice – including in member communications, investment-decision support, and data analysis – as well as emerging regulatory approaches.
The competition is open to all students of law, all trainee solicitors and barristers, and all practitioners qualified less than two years.
The first prize is €4,000, with a second prize of €1,000.
Essays should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words.
The deadline for submission is Friday 31 July and the APLI says that joint submissions are welcome.
