IWLA to host author Sally Hayden at Blackhall

The  Irish Women Lawyers Association (IWLA) AGM will take place on 23 July at the Law Society. 

The AGM, at 5 pm, will be followed by a discussion with journalist and author Sally Hayden.

A drinks reception and book signing will round out the evening.

Sally Hayden is an award-winning journalist, and bestselling author who reports on migration, conflict and human rights.

Post-conflict societies

She has a law degree from University College Dublin and an MSc in International Politics from Trinity College, Dublin, where her thesis was on post-conflict societies and theories of civil war resolution. 

She is Adjunct Professor at UCD Sutherland School of Law and has lectured at Princeton, New York University and Boston University.

Her first book My Fourth Time, We Drowned: Seeking Refuge on the World's Deadliest Migration Rout, won widespread recognition and has been translated into multiple languages.

Her second book, This Is Also a Love Story, was published in 2026.
