Gas safety firm acquired by Swedish concern
An Irish specialist in gas safety and fire suppression solutions has been acquired by a Swedish industry group of gas detector manufacturers in a deal supported by Browne Jacobson.
The law firm advised Advanced Gas Systems Ltd (AGSL) on its sale to Safe Monitoring Group, a Vellinge-based developer and manufacturer of gas detection and safety monitoring systems.
Expansion
Safe Monitoring Systems, which is backed by Swedish private equity firm Alder, said the deal allows the continued expansion of both companies’ work to protect people, equipment and the environment from hazardous gas leaks.
William Darmody, pictured, (partner and head of Browne Jacobson’s Irish corporate team) who is based in Dublin, led the firm’s role in the deal, supported by James Byrne (legal director, corporate) and Nadine Cannon (associate, corporate).

Established in 2015 and based in Tipperary, AGSL was owned by Ross and Caitriona Larkin.
The company offers design, supply, installation and maintenance of gas detection, gas proving and fire suppression systems. It serves commercial and industrial clients across Ireland, with a focus on tailored safety solutions.
