Trainee solicitor at Mason Hayes & Curran Gearóid Dardis has completed two months this summer at the Washington Ireland Programme.
In its 32nd year, WIP is a highly regarded leadership development programme whose alumni include Aidan Corbett, founder of Wayflyer, and former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
Rotation
Dardis completed the PPC course in Blackhall Place last year and is currently on his first trainee rotation with MHC.
He spent two months in Washington DC, post-PPC, on the staff of Republican Congressman Michael Lawler of New York.
There, he worked on legislation, committee affairs, speech writing and constituent issues.
From political and policy work on Capitol Hill to hosting a discussion with former national security advisors Dr Fiona Hill and Dr Tom Wright, Gearóid said he made the most of every opportunity.
Dardis also attended networking events in NYC, including a very memorable meeting with former US President Bill Clinton (small picture).
Gearóid Dardis was the first ever Blackhall Place PPC student to be accepted on to the prestigious programme, and his application was kindly facilitated by John Lunney of the Law Society, who acted as a referee.
