International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Piaras Power as partner in its finance-and-projects practice in Ireland.
He will join the firm on 1 October from Eversheds Sutherland.
The firm says that the appointment strengthens its finance-and-projects practice, which has doubled in size over the last three years.
Power has more than 20 years' experience as a partner working in acquisition finance, cashflow, asset-based lending, property, and development finance, with a particular focus on the residential, healthcare, and alternative-asset sectors.
Addleshaw Goddard says that the new partner will work alongside Ray Byrne (partner and head of finance in Ireland) and recent hire John Kearns (partner, structured finance and debt capital markets) to broaden the firm’s offering in the finance sector.
The firm’s head in Ireland Mark Walsh said that the finance-and-projects practice had been “a major driver” of its growth over the last three years.
He added that Power’s appointment reflected the firm’s determination to continue its growth path in the Irish market.
Addleshaw Goddard’s new office at Fitzwilliam No 28 in Dublin now hosts 90 solicitors, with the firm adding 15 new hires in the last year – 12 new solicitors and three partners.
