Trinity College law role for Michele O’Boyle SC

The past-president of the Law Society, Michele O’Boyle SC, has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Law at Trinity College Dublin.

The solicitor is the civil-litigation partner in Sligo-based O’Boyle Solicitors.

She was an elected member of the Council of the Law Society for over 20 years and served on all its senior committees.

O’Boyle was appointed President of the Law Society in 2019-2020 – the fourth female president in 150 years and the first female president with a practice outside Dublin.

She was named as ‘Woman Lawyer of The Year’ in 2020 for her leadership of the profession during the COVID pandemic.

‘Honoured’

The Sligo-based solicitor currently serves on the Law Society’s Family and Child Law Committee, Litigation Committee, and Assisted Decision-Making Task Force.

She also represents the organisation on the Council of the International Bar Association (IBA) and is a Government-appointed board member of the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA).

“I am truly honoured to be associated with Trinity College, which has an excellent reputation nationally and internationally for education, research, and innovation,” said O’Boyle, adding that she looked forward to working collaboratively with Professor David Kenny, as well as her colleagues at the School of Law and other disciplines.
