Diploma Centre summer offering for lawyers

The Law Society Diploma Centre’s  Legal Skills Through English programme will run over five days this summer, from 30 June to4 July.

This international legal-excellence programme gives participants the opportunity to improve both their English-language and practical legal skills through interactive lectures and workshops.

Students can improve their fluency and confidence when communicating through English, while also getting in-depth, tailored training in the key legal skills of negotiation, client interviewing and advising, and oral professional presentation.

Students will also develop an understanding of the common-law legal system, with social and cultural events as an optional networking opportunity.

The course is highly practical and based on learning-by-doing. It includes interactive lectures, workshops, role-plays, performance recordings, and one-to-one feedback.

What the course covers:

  • Legal English terminology,
  • Civil/common law comparison,
  • Legal presentation skills,
  • Interviewing clients,
  • Negotiation skills,
  • Masterclass on AI,
  • Optional social and cultural programme.

Who should apply

This course is suitable for lawyers, judges, prosecutors, and trainee lawyers. It would also be of interest and benefit to masters students who are completing further studies in law.
