MIDBA conference date announced for 27 June

The Media, Internet & Data Protection Bar Association (MIDBA) conference 2025 will take place on Friday 27 June, from 2-5.30pm, with registration and light lunch from 1pm.

The event, at the Gaffney Room, Distillery Building, Church St, Dublin 7, is open to the legal profession and will cover topical issues relating to media, data protection, and internet law.

On the agenda this year are:

  • Data subject access requests: the who, how and whys,
  • Australia has banned social media for under-16s: Should Ireland follow suit?
  • Media law in the digital age,
  • AI: hallucinations once again?

Mr Justice David Barniville, President of the High Court, will speak on Ireland as a hub for technology law.
