Law Society to host pre-election discussion
Two more events have been announced in the Law Society’s In conversation with leadership series – including a pre-election panel discussion.
The next conversation will take place on Friday 22 November (1pm to 2pm) – a week before the country goes to the polls.
Law Society Director General Mark Garrett will be joined by panellists including Irish Times political editor Pat Leahy and Irish Independent columnist and broadcaster Sarah Carey (small picture).
They will discuss how issues of justice and law reform have featured in the campaign, and answer questions from the profession.
Pat Leahy has also authored several books, including The Price of Power: Inside Ireland's Crisis Coalition and Showtime: The Inside Story of Fianna Fáil in Power.
Leahy is a UCD BCL graduate and a former Reuters fellow at Oxford while Carey has a TCD history degree and a post-graduate diploma in Business Studies from the UCD Michael Smurfit School.
She has worked as a communications consultant for many companies, particularly in public affairs and infrastructure.
Registration is now open.
IBEC chief
Later, on 12 December (1pm to 2pm), DG Mark Garrett will be joined by IBEC chief executive Danny McCoy.
Reflecting on the election and looking to the future, McCoy will offer insights on leadership from a career at the heart of Irish economic development.
Registration for this event is also open.
