Mason Hayes & Curran (MHC) has appointed Michaela Herron as its new head of life sciences.
She specialises in the intersection of technology and life-sciences regulation, particularly the EU regulatory environment.
Herron also acts for life-sciences clients in significant commercial disputes – including judicial reviews and high-volume product-liability actions, particularly in the medical-device industry.
Will Carmody (managing partner) said that clients in the life-sciences sector needed “a special blend” of legal advice and industry knowledge.
“Michaela’s leadership and rich sectoral expertise further strengthen our capabilities in this important sector,” he added.
Herron described the opportunities and challenges in the sector as “immense, as new technologies continue to transform patient care, client strategies and market dynamics”.
A graduate of University College Dublin, she was recently named a 'Stand-out Lawyer' by Thomson Reuters, and has twice been awarded the Lexology Client Choice Award for life sciences in Ireland.
