Eight Irish winners at Lexology awards in London

Lawyers from McCann FitzGerald and A&L Goodbody (ALG) took four of the eight Irish awards at the 2022 Lexology Client Choice Awards in London this week.

Fiona O’Beirne (small picture) of McCann FitzGerald was recognised for her 25 years of work in litigation in Ireland, where she advises international and domestic clients on patent litigation, and other intellectual-property disputes.

Kevin Kelly (pictured), who heads the firm’s construction group, was recognised for his work in advising a range of public-sector and private-sector clients in Ireland.

Peter McKeever of Simmons and Simmons was the real estate award winner.

For ALG, Mairead O’Brien was a winner in the investigations category, while David Francis took the award for pensions and benefits.

Awards attract 2,500 nominations

Matheson’s Garret Farrelly took the award in the category covering energy and natural resources, while Michaela Herron of Mason Hayes & Curran was the winner in life sciences.

Dorit McCann (Beauchamps) was recognised in the competition category, and Damien O’Flaherty (Frontier Economics Ltd) took the award for energy experts.

Established in 2005, the Lexology awards recognise law firms and partners around the world that stand out for excellence in client care and quality of service.

This year’s awards received more than 2,500 nominations, with law firms and partners being nominated by corporate counsel.
