Speakers named for 2024 Hardiman Lecture Series

The Hardiman Lecture Series, named in honour of the late Mr Justice Adrian Hardiman of the Supreme Court, returns this year with a schedule of four lectures.

Each lecture will take place in the Supreme Court, with all lectures starting at 4.15pm.

The Courts Service says that there is no need to book attendance in advance – anyone who is interested can turn up on the day.

Running criminal trials

Mr Justice Gerard Hogan has finalised the programme of lectures on a variety of topics of interest to legal professionals and a wider audience.

The schedule is:

  • Tuesday 11 June: ‘In conversation with Orla O’Donnell and Mary Carolan: The challenges facing legal journalism today’,
  • Thursday 13 June: Mr Justice Gerard Hogan on ‘Was Oliver Wendell Holmes really a great judge?’,
  • Tuesday 18 June: Eileen Barrington SC on ‘MD v A Secondary School – recent developments in the law of injunctions’, and
  • Tuesday 25 June: Ms Justice Caroline Biggs on ‘Running criminal trials in the Central Criminal Court’.
