Reminder for solicitors on 2024 PC applications

With Christmas behind us, the Law Society has reminded practising solicitors to submit their practising-certificate applications through the Law Society website and pay the fee by 1 February 2024.

This is a statutory deadline, and failure to meet this deadline will require you to backdate your practising certificate to 1 January by application to the President of the High Court.

Ensuring accurate records

If your employment or practising status changed in 2023, it is important to ensure that the Law Society has your current, up-to-date details.

Before submitting your application, please verify the accuracy of your records on the Law Society's website through your dashboard.

Membership

Law Society membership can be taken out either as part of your PC application or separately.

Benefits include library access, Gazette subscription, career, practice and wellbeing support, voting rights, and the recently launched Legal Services Excellence Standard.

Solicitors who are under one-year qualified pay just €20 for membership for 2024. To find out more, visit Member Services.
