Corporate-law firm William Fry is in talks with senior representatives of the Irish division of global firm Eversheds Sutherland about a potential agreement, according to a report in the Irish Times.
A statement to the newspaper said that a potential agreement would see Eversheds Sutherland Ireland’s partners and staff joining William Fry.
“Any potential transaction remains subject to the approval of both partner groups and any applicable regulatory approvals,” the statement said.
William Fry had 208 practising solicitors and Eversheds Sutherland Ireland 98 at the end of last year, according to Law Society figures.
The report today (13 December) follows two recent major deals announced in the sector – the merger of ByrneWallace and LK Shields, and Flynn O’Driscoll’s tie-up with Vincent & Beatty.
