Midlands solicitors invited to gather for CPD updates

The Law Society Skillnet Midlands general practice update will take place at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise, Co Laois on Tuesday, 30 April.  

The seminar will start the regional CPD cluster programme for 2024, in collaboration with:

  • Laois Solicitors’ Association,
  • Kildare Bar Association,
  • Midland Bar Association, and
  • Carlow Bar Association.

The all-day event will start at 10am and attendance will yield three general CPD points, and one client care and professional standards point as well as two professional development and solicitor wellbeing, leading to a total of six hours (by group study).

The aim and objectives of this training and education event is to provide an opportunity for practitioners to update their knowledge in areas of law relevant to general practice.

Networking

There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues over a hot lunch and evening drinks reception.

 Topics include

  • Wind and solar farms: a practical look at the law,
  • Recent developments in conveyancing 2024,
  • How to communicate with difficult people: communication is key, developing workplace communication skills,
  • Litigation: Circuit Court applications: an update,
  • Regulation: Cybercrime from a regulation point of view,
  • Your practice viability, present and future options,
  • Guide to Law Society services and how they can assist practitioners,
  • Assisted decision-making: a practical guide around the act.
