Webinar to focus on probate and wills

The Law Society is to hold a lunchtime webinar on probate cases next week.

The event, designed in collaboration with the Probate Bar Association of Ireland (PBAI), takes place on Wednesday 20 September (1-2pm).

The Zoom webinar will discuss tips for practitioners on taking instructions and writing wills arising from recent contentious and non-contentious probate cases.

Chair and speakers

Barrister Catherine Duggan, who specialises in probate and trust law, will chair the event, which will be worth one CPD hour.

She is a founding member and chair of the PBAI and a former Chair of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Speakers include barrister Karl Dowling, who has lectured widely on various probate issues to the Law Society, STEP annual conferences, the DSBA and a number of countrywide Solicitors’ Bar Associations.

Michael Hourican SC, a committee member of the PBAI and a regular speaker at probate bar events, who also contributes to the Bar Review and other publications, will also speak at the webinar.
