Thriving in the first seven years of practice

An event hosted by the Law Society’s Younger Members Committee next week will focus on the key skills needed by solicitors in the first seven years of practice.

The conference, being held in partnership with Law Society Professional Training, takes place on Thursday 5 October (4.30pm-6pm) in the Green Hall in Blackhall Place.

The committee says that the event, which is open for registration, is suitable for: solicitors in the earlier stages of their career; trainees approaching qualification; and solicitors managing or mentoring junior lawyers.

Topics and speakers

Topics and issues to be covered include:

  • Professional and personal branding,
  • Career development,
  • Key skills to succeed.

The event will be chaired by Fiona McNulty (senior associate, Mason Hayes & Curran LLP).

The speakers include:

  • Barry McLoughlin (had of client engagement and senior consultant at the Communications Clinic),
  • Annalise Murphy (triple Olympian and board member of Olympic Steering Group),
  • Martin Cooney (partner, Byrne Wallace LLP).

Further speakers will be announced shortly.

The event is worth 1.5 CPD hours.
