Live Register figures down 1.8% to 169,933

The seasonally-adjusted live register total for October 2023 was 175,500 people, down by 3,300 or 1.8% from September 2023.

The unadjusted total stood at 169,933 people for October.

Of those 169,933, 54.6% were male and 69.0% were Irish.

The 35-44 cohort made up the largest number on the register in October 2023 at 40,060 people or 23.6%.

Increase

Three counties saw an increase in the numbers on the register in the 12 months to October 2023.

The highest increase was in Meath (6.1%) – with Leitrim and Sligo both increasing by 2.2%.

There  were 108,719 people on the register for less than one year.
