ByrneWallace appoints new tax partner

ByrneWallace LLP has appointed Orla Riddell as new partner in its tax team.

Riddell is a dual-qualified solicitor and tax advisor specialising in corporation tax, who works across a broad range of industry sectors.

She has several years’ experience advising clients on all aspects of taxation law, with particular expertise advising clients in the technology, pharmaceutical and retail sector.

‘Unique insight'

Her previous experience includes working in a ‘big four’ practice, and leading the tax function of a large multi-national retailer in Ireland.

“Having held senior tax roles in both industry and, more recently, in practice, Orla can draw upon her unique insight into the commercial and operational challenges that face clients from a tax perspective to provide excellent, commercially-focused tax solutions,” said the firm’s head of tax Anthony Smyth.

Managing partner Feargal Brennan described Riddell as “a valuable addition” to its growing tax practice.
