DLA Piper promotes 13 in Dublin office

Global law firm DLA Piper has announced 13 new appointments in its Dublin office.

The firm has promoted seven senior associates, one legal director, and five business-services professionals.

Last year, DLA Piper said that it planned to double its existing workforce in Ireland after significant growth across its sectors.

Dublin number tops 110

Kieran Finn (finance, projects and restructuring) has been promoted to legal director.

The senior-associate appointments are:

  • Blayre McBride (corporate),
  • Dara McDonald (corporate),
  • Eilís McDonald (intellectual property and technology),
  • Hayley Maher (employment),
  • Laura O’Malley (tax),
  • Cathal Barrett (tax), and
  • Lorcan Doocey (real estate).

Appointments across business-services teams at the firm include:

  • David Grimes (IT manager),
  • Shane Halpin (finance manager),
  • Shauna O' Hanlon (team co-ordinator),
  • Caroline Byrne (senior HR manager), and
  • Kerri Pender (secretary).

Additionally, the recent appointment of Naoise Hartnett brings to 18 the total number of partners in the Dublin office, where the firm’s total team of professionals now exceeds 110 people.

David Carthy (country managing partner for Ireland) described the announcement of the promotions as “a significant day” for DLA Piper as it continued to strengthen its expertise in Ireland.
