Using visual aids to improve presentations

Law Society Skillnet has organised a two-day course aimed at helping participants to understand presentation techniques, and how to effectively use various visual aids – including PowerPoint.

Those taking part will be able to practice and deliver their presentations a number of times throughout the two days.

Two of these sessions will be recorded, and feedback will be offered.

In addition to theory and practical presentation techniques, participants will also learn to use MS PowerPoint effectively, to ensure that the tool enhances, and does not distract from, the presentation.

Topic for presentation

The in-person course takes place on 21 and 26 April (10am-4.30pm each day) at Blackhall Place, and numbers are limited to eight participants. Ten CPD hours are on offer.

Participants should have basic computer skills – including familiarity with the use of other computer applications such as MS Word.

Those taking part are being asked to choose a topic on which they would like to deliver their presentation before the training course.
