Calcutta Run tag-rugby contest seeks players

The Rogers Recruitment Calcutta Run Tag-rugby Tournament will take place at Blackhall Place and TU Dublin on Saturday, 6 May.

This event is open to all legal practitioners across the country, with no tag experience (or ability) required.

Food trucks, beverages and music will be provided during the competitive tag-rugby event on the day.

There is a limit of 32 teams for the tournament, with each team capped at 12 panel members. Teams may have fewer than 12 players if they wish, but must have a minimum of players – four male and three female – on the pitch at any one time.

Team captains can sign up using this form

Individual or smaller group sign-ups are encouraged – everyone will be allocated to a team. Just email calcuttatag2023@gmail.com.

Spectators are also encouraged, and the nearby Glimmerman will be the venue for after-tournament drinks. A fundraising raffle will feature the following prizes:

  • Michelin Star restaurant voucher (Dublin),
  • Two Manchester United tickets for 2023/24 season Premier League game (against a top-six team), plus one night’s accommodation in a four-star Manchester hotel,
  • Lower West Stand tickets for Ireland v Wales in the 2024 Six Nations.

Other sponsored prizes on the day include ‘Best Try Scorer’ and ‘Players of the Tournament’.
