PRA ‘paperless’ initiative will speed up turnaround

The Property Registration Authority of Ireland (PRAI) now has a paperless copy-instrument facility available to solicitors acting for registered owners when applying for copy instruments.

The PRAI explains that this paperless ‘P’ application service is only available to solicitors who are acting as authorised users for a registered owner.

Lodgement date

The application will be lodged instantly, once it has been received by the PRAI. The lodgement date will be the day of submission, thus removing the time and expense in posting applications.

Turnaround times for these applications will be seven working days where the instrument is readily available.

Fees are automatically deducted from the user's account, with no requirement for cheque or other payment methods.

More about the service and how solicitors can register to become an authorised user can be found on the PRAI website.
