Chief Justice to host human-rights conference

The Chief Justice Mr Justice Donal O’Donnell (pictured) is to host a public conference on human rights in Dublin in October.

The conference, entitled ‘Human Rights in a Time of Change: Perspectives from Ireland and from Strasbourg’, will take place at the St Patrick’s campus of Dublin City University on Friday, 21 October.

The Chief Justice heads a distinguished list of speakers that includes:

  • Judge Robert Spano (President of the European Court of Human Rights),
  • Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley (Supreme Court),
  • Judge Síofra O’Leary (Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights), and
  • Colm O'Cinneide (Professor of Constitutions/Human Rights Law, UCL).
