McCague to be regional advisor for Goldman Sachs

McCague named Goldman Sachs' regional advisor

Investment bank Goldman Sachs has appointed the former Arthur Cox managing partner and chair Eugene McCague as a regional advisor for the Irish market.

Former rugby player Hugo MacNeill previously held the role, spending 31 years with the investment bank.

Fund management Goldman Sachs has several Irish-registered entities and runs a Dublin office.

Corporate lawyer

Clones, Co Monaghan native McCague had a long career as a corporate lawyer with Arthur Cox including four years as managing partner, from April 2006.

He also served as president of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and advised the Government on the 2008 bank guarantee, as well as acting in the examinership of the Goodman Group, and the restructuring of Team Aer Lingus.

McCague also chairs the Alzheimer Society.
