Digital and comms training offered to members

The Law Society is marking Communications Day 2021 with a free CPD training session, which is open to all members.

This event, on Wednesday, 10 November, will be facilitated as an online event, and will focus on media and digital skills.

As a result of the skills learned at Communications Day, it is hoped that more solicitors will be empowered to share legal expertise in their local communities and contribute to the wider discourse on legal matters.

Given that solicitors provide an essential service in communities across the country, and the pandemic has affected how we communicate and how we do business, it is more important than ever that solicitors use media and digital communications.

Profile

Friday’s event has been specially designed to support Law Society members to develop a mix of practical communications skills to build their profiles as 'subject-matter' experts.

Speakers will include some of Ireland’s leading national and regional journalists and broadcasters, and an expert social-media strategist.

CPD hours (management and professional development skills) will be available to participants.

Speakers include:

  • Sinéad O’Carroll (editor, The Journal.ie),
  • Sinéad Hubble (head of news and sport, Midlands 103FM),
  • Darragh Doyle (social-media strategist).

Advance registration is essential. Places are limited, so early registration is advised, before 12pm on 8 November.
