Clifden golf case adjourned until October
The case concerning the controversial Oireachtas golf dinner in August last year, has been adjourned until 28 October.
Galway independent TD Noel Grealish, former Senator Donie Cassidy and two Clifden businessmen, John and James Sweeney, who own the Stationhouse Hotel, are each facing the offence of organising, or causing to be organised, an event which contravened the 1947 Health Act, which was amended in 2020 to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Disclosure orders were sought on behalf of all four accused at Clifden District Court yesterday (22 July).
Set aside
Judge Marie Keane was told that three days would need to be set aside for the hearing, and that a special court date should be fixed.
The case will come up for mention on 28 October, and a firm date can be fixed for hearing.
The four men did not appear in court but were represented by their solicitors, who dealt with the matter on their behalf.
