Past pupils of Dublin’s Mount Anville school have launched a lawyers’ network.
The inaugural event of the Mount Anville Past Pupil Lawyers Network was held at McCann Fitzgerald with the theme of ‘Women in the Law’.
Very special guest speaker was Judge Mary Irvine who enthralled the gathered lawyers on 17 October.
Past pupils met and shared their professional experiences of working in legal services.
Turnout
Barrister Mella Kennedy, one of the organisers, was delighted with the level of interest with a turnout of over 60 past pupils.
“It has also been really encouraging to see the enthusiasm about the establishment of the network and that so many past pupils are supportive of the concept and wish to attend future events,” she said.
The network thanked Helen Kilroy, a partner at McCann FitzGerald, for their generous hosting of the event and Judge Mary Irvine, for her informative and inspiring speech on the night.
Shared experiences
The network hopes to hold another event in the spring with the aim of collaboration and shared experiences both from a professional and practical perspective.
It’s planned to host at least two networking events annually.
The committee are also exploring the concept of a mentoring scheme for past pupils who are working in legal services.
