Circuit Court returns to Mullingar after ten-year gap

The October sittings of the Circuit Court have returned to Mullingar following an absence of ten years.

The return follows a €14.1 million refurbishment of the building which has transformed it into a modern court house with three distinct court rooms.

During the hiatus, court business was transferred to Tullamore. Judge Keenan Johnson this week thanked the people of Offaly and Westmeath for their forbearance and said that Mullingar now has the most technically advanced facilities in the country.

Delight

Practitioners on the Midland Circuit welcomed the return of the Circuit Court. Senior Counsel John Shortt expressed his delight at the refurbished court facilities.
