Updated guidance on the European Court of Human Rights has been published by the Council of Bars & Law Societies of Europe (CCBE).

Preparing a case at Strasbourg

The European Court of Human Rights - Questions & Answers for Lawyers provides information on the European Court of Human Rights. Produced by the Permanent Delegation to Strasbourg (PD STRAS), the guide answers common questions from practitioners across Europe when preparing or presenting a case to the court in Strasbourg. It is intended as a practical guide only and does not replace reference to the relevant primary documents.

Irish representation on the CCBE

The Society participates in the work of the CCBE through the European and International Affairs Committee.Cormac Little (European and International Affairs Committee, William Fry) is the Law Society representative at the CCBE. Cormac O’Culain (Public Affairs Manager) is the Information Officer.

For 2019, the Irish delegation is led by Paul McGarry S.C. of the Bar Council, along with Ciara Murphy, also of the Bar Council, as Information Officer.
