A new edition of the Family Law in Ireland Code of Practice was launched on 14 September.

Updates to practice

The Code of Practice has been reviewed in light of recent growth in the family law sector and significant changes to the law, including the children’s rights referendum and the enactment of the Children and Family Relationships Act 2015.

The handbook covers issues including alternative dispute resolution, relationships with both clients and other professionals, supporting children and anti-money laundering obligations.

Family & Child Law Committee

The Code of Practice has been published by the Family & Child Law Committee of the Law Society, which represents the interests of practitioners in the field.

Solicitors can find more information, and relevant resources, in the Family & Child Law Committee page.
