Work in the Master’s Court will recommence with effect from 10 May, 2021.

Masters Court Covid

Priority reopening has been afforded to this Court since it has not been possible to place its work on a remote platform and it has been closed for longer than any other Court.

Arrangements for sittings

The Master will sit on Monday to Friday inclusive from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The start times of all proceedings and applications will be staggered due to Covid-19 considerations and these will be published in the legal diary.

Public health protections

Hearings and applications in the Master’s Court will be conducted in strict compliance with all Covid-19 public health guidance and in compliance with the Court’s own practice directions.

Parties must not arrive to the Master’s Court more than five minutes in advance of the start time allocated to their proceedings or application and are asked to comply immediately and with courtesy to all or any directions they may receive from Courts Service staff engaged in supervising the areas adjacent to the Court.

Sittings will cease in the event of:

  • non-compliance on the part of practitioners with Covid-19 public health guidance,
  • breach of any relevant Practice Directions, or
  • any other public health considerations.
