The Law Society library provides information, reference and lending services to members of the Law Society and Law School trainees.
Accessing library services during Covid-19
If you require book loans, we can arrange to leave these for collection or deliver by post or DX. Book loan collection does not require an appointment.
The Library continues to provide study desks for members and students. A limited number of study spaces are available and booking in advance is required. Please consider carefully if you need to avail of our onsite services.
The following 90-minute slots for study space are available Monday-Friday:
- 9.30 - 11.00am,
- 11.30 - 1.00pm,
- 2.00 - 3.30pm.
Members and students availing of study spaces will be requested to enter the Building via the Main Door, sign a contact register and observe hygiene and social distancing requirements within the Building and the Library. Masks/face coverings are required to be worn for the entire duration of your visit.
All other services including book loans, legal research enquiries and document delivery are fully operational. Book loans are delivered by DX tracked courier and An Post, or may be collected from Main Reception, Blackhall Place.

Library charges for document delivery
Library charges for document delivery and post/dx will be reintroduced from 1 July 2021. These charges have been waived since May 2020. During this period we have supplied approx 5,000 documents free of charge.

Login with your Library username and Pin (your library password or pin is provided by library staff and is not the same as the Law Society website password).
Celebrating a Century of Equal Opportunities Legislation - the First 100 Women Solicitors

Law Society Institutional Archives online
As of November 2016, you can now access an online version of the Law Society’s Institutional Archive 1841-1940s including Roll Books, Council Minutes, Gazettes, Court of Examiners Minutes, Registers of Apprentices and SADSI materials. For details, log into the online library catalogue.
