Conveyancing and registration made clear

The Law Society has been engaging with Tailte Éireann to improve the conveyancing and property registration system. This includes queries around service level processes and addressing registration issues since changes to Tailte Éireann’s practices in 2023.

The result was the Law Society and Tailte Éireann hosting two helpful webinars on October 1 and 22  for solicitors and other legal practitioners. There were over 2,500 attendees to both webinars.

  • Webinar one: Examines Forms 1 and 2 registration processes to streamline your application, minimising complications.
  • Webinar two: Helps practitioners optimise Form 3 applications.

Topics in these insightful webinars include the position regarding a vendor disposing of their interest in a property before their first registration application is completed, and the matter of searches arising in the context of both these applications. A panel discussion between the Law Society’s Conveyancing Committee and Tailte Éireann officials discussed issues relating to first registration and Form 3 and directly addressed some of the challenges faced by the profession.

Questions? It’s covered

Tailte Éireann will provide a useful FAQ sheet with responses to practitioner questions from the webinars. We will let you know once this is available. The Law Society continues to work alongside Tailte Éireann to give you the latest updates to assist in the conveyancing process.
