Background

The Criminal Justice (Legal Aid) (Tax Clearance Certificate) Regulations, 1999 (S.I. No. 135 of 1999) provide that a solicitor who wishes to have their name retained on Criminal Legal Aid Panels beyond 30 November 2022 must submit a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) with an expiry date after 1 December 2022.

How to submit

In December 2015, Revenue introduced a new electronic - Tax Clearance Certificate (e-TC) processing system. The new system allows applicants to apply for their e-TC and to print their e-TC from the Revenue website.

To remain on the Panels in 2023, you must submit the e-TC and your application form to legalaidpanel@courts.ie after 1 December 2022.
