The meeting will be attended by Law Society Director General Mark Garrett, Director of Policy Brian Hunt, Criminal Law Committee chair Shane McCarthy and Criminal Law Committee vice chair Amanda Connolly.

The Law Society issued a press statement in response to the proposal after it was announced. In the statement, we highlighted our deep concerns about the proposed move towards a fixed fee that does not take into account the indeterminate length of case proceedings and the work involved.
