Paying by EFT?
The Law Society has upgraded its EFT payment system to quickly link payments to individuals and firms.
Each solicitor and firm now has their own unique Virtual IBAN for EFT payments. Firm Admins can see this Virtual IBAN on the PC Payment page or under ‘EFT Firm Details’. To ensure payments are correctly linked to you or your firm, please make sure to do the following:
- Update any saved IBAN numbers for the Law Society with your new Virtual IBAN details.
- Use the correct Virtual IBAN assigned to the Law Societ y /Regulation account.
- When paying by EFT, you must generate your EFT form at the end of your application process. You can find the correct reference number on the downloaded EFT form in the format: ‘REG-XXXXXX-SXXXX-FXXX’. Please use this reference when making your payment.
- When making your payment through your bank, please quote this reference number as generated, and use as your bank transaction reference number when making your payment. There is no requirement to add any other information to this reference.
For more information, see the quick links below.

You can renew your Law Society membership as part of your PC application. Membership entitles you to a wide range of services, including the important right to run for and vote for your Council and influence affairs of importance to the profession. If you are not renewing your PC, you can renew non-practising membership online.
