Reminder of updated payment system
The Law Society has partnered with NoFrixion (NoFrixion Ltd, 8 Harcourt Street, Dublin D02 AF58) to provide a new system to streamline the process of making payments to the Law Society, offering greater efficiency. This change will affect anyone using electronic transfer of funds (EFT) to pay the Law Society.
If you have previously used EFT to pay fees to the Law Society, you will need to update the IBAN and BIC that you saved in your online banking service and replace it with the Society/Regulation VBAN allocated to you. You can access your VBAN via your dashboard on lawsociety.ie after you log in.
If paying by EFT, it is also vital to include the correct reference number to avoid any delays issuing your PC.
You can find the correct reference number on the downloaded EFT form in the format:
- ‘REG-XXXXXX-SXXXX-FXXX’
It’s very important when making an EFT payment for Practising Certificate (PC) fees to only use this reference number on the bank transaction.
For more information on the new system and answers to common queries, see the FAQ below:
Benefits of membership
Don’t forget to take out Law Society membership during the PC renewal period. Membership entitles you to a wide range of services, including the important right to run for and vote for your Council and influence affairs of importance to the profession.
Find a Solicitor listing
Renewing your Practising Certificate in good time will also keep your details accurate and up to date on our ‘Find a Solicitor' service. This service allows the public and others to search for practising solicitors (and active firms) by location and organisation type and is updated at regular intervals daily.
