Resources

The Guidance and Ethics Committee has published the Solicitor’s Guide to Professional Conduct - an updated, renamed, fourth edition of the Guide to Good Professional Conduct of Solicitors in Ireland. The Guide is a source of reference on professional conduct for all solicitors, to be used as an information tool to assist solicitors in their decision-making and in considering the many and varied ethical questions that arise in day-to-day practice for every solicitor.

The Law Society Library has launched a redesigned and updated library catalogue. The search function has moved to a more prominent position in the centre of the screen, making it easier to locate and explore the catalogue. The book carousel, which allows users to see at a glance what new books have arrived in the library, has expanded to include new judgments. This feature means that members can quickly see the judgments handed down by the courts in the previous week.

Training

Upcoming courses from Law Society Skillnet are designed to build key skills for legal executives and other support staff. Courses include legal skills workshops, IT skills and professional development such as dealing with challenging and hostile calls.

Limited spaces are still available for upcoming Diploma Centre courses with relevance to in-house practice. These include the Diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance, Diploma in Education Law, Certificate in Trade Mark Law and more.

Social Media

In-house solicitors can connect and network with colleagues across organisations using a private LinkedIn group.
