The In-House Counsel & Gender Parity Survey, carried out by law firm Mason Hayes & Curran (MHC), indicates that the number of women in senior leadership positions in Ireland has declined in recent years. The survey was carried out during the summer of this year among more than 100 in-house counsel working in Ireland.

The deadline for submission of responses to the draft Competency Framework for Solicitors in Ireland has been extended to 30 November 2022. The Competency framework sets out day one competence in the practice of solicitors in Ireland. It also provides an advisory framework for continuing competence. Recognising the diverse and changing nature of the profession, the document focuses upon the threshold competences that might be expected of solicitors now and in the near future.

There is little post-GDPR guidance for data controllers on assessing whether further processing for a different purpose is compatible. However, pre-GDPR guidance and case law may remain applicable, writes Morgane Conaty in the November Gazette.
